Taryn’s Tips: Using the Colors of Nature / Nature’s Inspiration
I grew up in Massachusetts, and always felt really lucky to have been able to do so. When I was twelve, I moved with my family to Florida, and although the warm, paradise-like climate had its perks, it wasn’t MY paradise.
My paradise is waking up on a winter morning to look out my window to see my world turned into a winter wonderland, completely covered in a fresh, white blanket of snow that wasn’t there just the night before. My paradise is driving through the White Mountains in New Hampshire and being so astounded by the beauty of the Fall foliage that I have to catch my breath, just a little… it’s like you’re standing right in the middle of a postcard. Now that I have returned to my roots, (recently, might I add) the beauty of nature inspires me in all sorts of ways. Nature produces the most beautiful arrays of color… from the deep red of fresh cranberry bogs to white sand beaches against a crisp, blue sky, to a spectacle of pinks and oranges on a perfect sunset night. re:fab, a commercial painting and renovations contractor in New England, has the benefit of being able to experience all of the seasons and the beauty that comes with them.
When looking for color inspiration for your interior painting or exterior painting, using color pallets from nature is always a sure-fire way to go.
The Lilac: a popular flower, not only for its beauty, but delicious smell, starts to bloom in the early summer season in New England. (My mom’s personal favorite) When you see them in bloom, catch them quick! They don’t stay that way for long. The natural green and purple combination works wonders on this living room, for example.
The colors of the fall foliage look absolutely gorgeous in this living room; warm, bright, and inviting.
The different shades of blues that come with a fresh snow fall always look crisp and clean against the white powder, and these tones looks so elegant on this colonial.
Even if you are not a New Englander, nature is beautiful in every corner of the world. Go out there and find your color inspiration!
