March is International Women’s History Month, so we are paying tribute to the invaluable contributions of women in our industry and on our team. From project coordination, sales and more, women have played an integral role in shaping the landscape of our profession, and our team. Read on as we honor their dedication, leadership and commitment to excellence as we embark on another month of delivering exceptional results. Plus, meet just a few of the women on our team that make it possible. Let’s paint a brighter future together, with every surface we touch.
Sarah Medeiros
Sarah is one of our lovely Project Coordinators. If you ever called us, chances are she answered the phone. She works with our Estimating team to book your estimate, then works with both our Paint and Reno Operations teams to get your project on our books, and our teams out to you. She is the bridge between you and our teams. Sarah makes sure you, the client, are happy, and the team knows how to keep you happy. She orders paint and supplies for your job and so much more! On top of that, she has been a key person in our 2024 major software updates. From working with an IT team to set it up to training our staff on how to use it. She has been on our team since May of 2023 and has done such great work since day one!
In December she won the Domingos Holdings Rookie of the Year Award, beating out men and women across all of 5 Domingos Holdings brands! Outside of work, Sarah likes to play video games, watch TV and cuddle with her cats. She likes to camp and travel – Alaska is next on her list!
Lorraine Carboni
Lorraine is also a Project Coordinator, however, she works for our Special Projects Division. Her role is a bit different from Sarah’s. She places the orders for our big multi-site projects and our small maintenance projects. Lately, she has been working behind the scenes on a project that is re:branding nursing homes all over New England. From daily communication with clients, site contacts and crews, to making sure the projects are happening on time and on budget! She’s also responsible for contacting vendors to order paint and other supplies, working hand and hand with Dakota who oversees the division. She actually started the same day as Sarah M.! So, they are hiring buddies!
In December, she won the Domingos Holdings Innovator Award, along with Dakota, for their rockstar work in setting up our Special Projects Division! Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, reading, playing with her grandson, antiquing and spending time with friends and family. She is also on the board of selectwomen for Lakeville, MA and is an entrepreneur herself, so she has shattered a few glass ceilings!
Ashley Ferreira
Ashley is our Finance Manager. She does it all, from Accounts Payable (aka paying the bills), Accounts Receivable (aka getting the money to pay the bills) and HR! Ashley is also the backbone of the office, making sure everyone has what they need, whether it’s coffee pods, paper or more! She has been with re:fab for 9 years, and we couldn’t do it without her!
Ashley is the winner of the Domingos Holdings 2023 MVP Award. So, when we say backbone, we really mean it! Outside of work, she likes to hang out with family and relax at home with her dog, Joy, and cat, Toodles.
Sherrie Borges
Sherrie is the controller of the Domingos Holdings. Controlling all the finances, HR, payroll and so much more! She works hand and hand with the re:fab Leadership team, Dave (our CEO) and Ashley, to make sure they stay on track with the budget and goals. She is Dave’s right-hand woman! Sherrie has been with re:fab for 25 years. As our most veteran employee, she knows the ins and outs of the whole company and the industry!
Some accomplishments she has had at re:fab is managing many different software systems, from finance and scheduling platform, to archiving info from past jobs and keeping our digital footprint clean! When asked what her what her biggest accomplishment at re:fab was, she said being here for 25 years! Outside of work, she likes to spend time with her son, Liam, and friends.
Sarah Baillargeon
Sarah is our Marketing Director for Domingos Holdings. However, along with the whole Domingos team, she works hand and hand with the re:fab teams! From sending marketing emails, crafting social media campaigns, designing graphics, ordering marketing material, tracking campaigns, and so much more. Her to-do list is always growing! Doing all of this for 5 different brands keeps the job interesting and keeps her always learning! She started in March 2017, and I find it ironic that this rockstar woman started during Women’s History Month. And no, Sarah didn’t write this blog, it was Peter R.!
In those 7 years, she has been able to accomplish a lot of awesome things! She has helped launch several new brands, including re:fab. She sits on the board of Why Not A Pear, our non-profit, and runs the annual golf tournament! In 2023, she won the Domingos Holdings Driving Success Award for the passion she has for the growth and success of all of the Domingos Holdings companies. Outside of work, she likes to hang out with family and friends, ski, hike and travel to new places, though she tends to end up at Disney World a lot!
re:painting and re:modeling can be male-dominated fields, but we are so lucky to have empowering women who work for re:fab. From painters, subcontractors, sales, estimators, project managers, office workers and so much more, over the past 32 years, we have had women work in nearly every position.
