Here at re:fab we consider all of our employees to be family. However, for some employees this statement takes on a literal meaning.
You may not know what It’s like to work with a family member or even someone you are related to, but here at the re:fab office, we know all about it. In our office we have, Maggie Arruda, mother of Sherrie Borges and her sister Joann Ruff. We also have a father son duo of Danny Ferreira and his son Matt Ferreira. You may dread the possibility of working with someone you are related to, so let’s find out what these family members think about working under the same roof. Maggie tells me that “It’s wonderful. I’m with my daughters eight hours a day! I will never complain about that.” Sherrie says, “It has its good days and it’s bad days –there are ups and downs.” Joann claims, “It’s great because we know each other so well and are very open to talking about ideas, though the downside is that we talk about work when we are not at work.” Danny thinks that “It’s beautiful.” While Matt claims “It’s ok, it’s good. My dad helps a lot and we bring that father son relationship to work.”
