Happy Lemonade Day! re:fab is proud to sponsor this year’s Fun 107 Lemonade Day on Saturday, May 5th 2018. Let’s teach the youth to become confident entrepreneurs, as well as social advocates, community volunteers, and forward-thinking citizens.
The lemonade stand is a symbol of spring! Do you remember walking around your neighborhood on one of the first nice (bearable) days in months to find two excited children haphazardly squeezing lemons? Those children were using their imaginations and having fun, but they were also cultivating an attitude and skills that will help them thrive in the future.
We are proud to sponsor this year’s Fun 107 Lemonade Day on Saturday, May 5th 2018. The Celebration was started in 2007 when founder, Michael Holthouse wanted to create a fun way to inspire and teach the youth to become confident entrepreneurs, as well as social advocates, community volunteers, and forward-thinking citizens. How do you give children their own business for a day? A lemonade stand is a good place to start!
This will be the fourth annual Lemonade Day for Southcoast and the tenth anniversary of its original start. We will also be teaming up with Wilmot’s Decorating Center to help kids paint their own beautiful lemonade stands. If your child enters before May 10th, they may also have the chance to win a new Apple iPad.
It’s proven that Lemonade Day teaches kids the impact of a well-thought-out business plan, good customer service, philanthropy, business loans and respectable presentation. Over the past 10 years, the Day has reached over 1 million kids and has spread to 64 territories across North America. For those who have participated in the day, their problem solving, communication skills, self-esteem, ability to set financial goals, understanding of saving and correlation of math and the real world have risen exponentially. At ProGroup, we think it’s a creative way to help the youth navigate their place in the world.
