Danny Ferreira is our Head Paint Project Manager. Overseeing most, if not all, of our paint projects, he tends to travel over New England on many different types of job sites. After tracking him down, we were able to ask him a few questions to write this highlight about him.
Danny has been with re:fab for 25 years! Before working at re:fab, Danny worked in the construction industry and landscaping industry for 11 years. His experience in these industries helps him today. When a job requires more than paint, he can step in and get it done. His landscaping experience helps tremendously when painting large buildings with plants that could be in the way. He knows how much may need to get cut based on the type of plant it is and how to work around it. As you can imagine, this happens with most exterior paint jobs!
re:fab is Danny’s Family!
Danny stuck to the painting industry because he loves working for re:fab. Within a mere three months at re:fab, Danny earned a promotion to his current role! Danny has played a huge role in helping to grow re:fab to service all of New England and the many expansions that have happened in the past 25 years. re:fab, painting, and renovations is in Danny’s blood!
His oldest son, Matt, is our Director of Renovations. His youngest son, David, is in the painting industry as well, as an Estimator for one of our national partners. His daughter also worked for re:fab and other Domingos Holdings (our parent company) companies. Plus, his wife works hard at bringing us all joy at Fat Cousins Pizza, also owned by Domingos Holdings. Danny loves to spend time with his family, even when they are not all at work together! If his wife let him, he would paint his whole house red.
So, for Danny, re:fab is a family thing! He loves his job; you can tell by the way he talks about the cool and interesting jobs he is currently doing and has done in the past. One project that sticks out to him is a Church in Fall River, MA. They had to remove everything inside the church, even the statues of the Saints, and power wash the inside of it. They had to run a lot of shop vacs to keep the water from causing any damage to the floors and dry it up. It was a lot of hard work, but the fastest way to get a deep cleaning to the stone interior.
Communication is Key!
When working with clients, Danny believes the key to keeping them happy is communication, being respectful of their wants and needs and to listening to them. He believes it’s important to always keep the client in the loop on what is happening on the job site and whenever the timeline gets adjusted, which happens a lot with exterior painting.
Why does Danny think YOU should come work with us at re:fab?
Danny believes you should work with re:fab because he truly believes, and knows, it’s the best. If he could go back and tell his younger self some advice, it would be to stay on the right path and to continue to work at re:fab! He loves the fact that re:fab offers great employee benefits to him and his crews. Benefits include a 401k, good health insurance, crew vehicles, paying for gas, phones for project managers and so much more. That isn’t always the industry standard. As Danny says, “re:fab is the best!”
Danny is a caring and loving person. You can tell by the way he treats every project, every client and every member of the re:fab team! Thank you, Danny, for all that you do, and for always getting the job done right, on time, on budget and with a smile and some jokes along the way!
