re:paint, re:fresh and re:pair this historic building
Overview
Riverview Rehabilitative Care, located in Coventry, RI, is a historic building that has undergone numerous updates and additions since its original days as the Rhode Island Governor’s manor. One of those updates included installing an EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) on its siding. Over time, however, the building endured its share of severe storms, resulting in water damage to the EIFS, insulation, and even some metal beams. This building needed more than just a simple repaint and refresh—without disrupting the patients or the daily operations of the center. That’s when re:fab stepped in to help!

The re:fab Approach
This project began with a detailed site assessment to identify areas requiring repair, replacement, and reinforcement. Our power washing team thoroughly cleaned the entire building and patios to remove mold and mildew, preparing the surfaces for the work ahead.
The carpentry team removed, replaced, and reattached metal beams and insulation in three rear walls, while addressing other structural repairs. Our EIFS crew repaired and resurfaced damaged sections of the building and sealed all openings. Additionally, we recaulked all window and door frames for a weather-tight finish.
Our painting team repainted the exterior, including EIFS surfaces, columns, upper wood siding and trim, window trim, porticos, and steel doors, paying special attention to decorative features. Throughout the process, our Project Coordinators ensured the project stayed on track and kept the client informed daily. The result was a structurally sound and visually refreshed property.
“Beautiful paint job on our center! We are thrilled to be elevating our center for our residents.”– Riverview Rehabilitative Care
