refab is looking for partners to be in a long-term commitment with refab: installing sheetrock in 500+ new construction homes in Raleigh, NC area

The Right Fit Should Have:

• Friendly and professional customer service skills
• Effective communication & writing skills
• Knowledge of commercial construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials specifications, quality control, and safety
• Ability to read and understand related construction documents (i.e., blueprints, plans, specs, shop drawings, etc.)
• Must maintain valid Workman’s Comp & General Liability insurance on self and crew and fully insured work vehicles
• Must hold an OSHA-10 card
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a face-paced & evolving environment

Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable, licensed, and experienced small general contractor firm to partner with us as a subcontractor for a commercial project in Auburn Maine. This is an excellent opportunity for a smaller, professional firm looking to build consistent work and grow through a trusted partnership.

Responsibilities:

• Execute various phases of construction including painting, framing, drywall, finishing, small remodels, and general site work
• Manage materials, labor, and scheduling for assigned tasks
• Communicate effectively with our project manager and adhere to project timelines
• Maintain a clean and safe job site
• Comply with local building codes and inspection requirements

Requirements:

• Fully licensed and insured as a general contractor
• Proven track record of quality craftsmanship and reliability
• Ability to manage small crews

The full-time ideal candidate will have knowledge in performing detailed take-offs of property conditions, blueprints for small, medium, and large projects utilizing estimating software like Xactimate, Quick Bid and other software for residential and commercial structures.

Experience in document review and analyses of schedules, contracts, change orders, daily construction reports as well as technical reports.

A strong working knowledge of all project phases including conceptual and schematic drawings to a completed project. The role is a combination of inside & outside project management with local travel required.

Project Manager Requirements & Skills:

• Written and verbal communication presentation skills are necessary
• Working knowledge of construction best practices, general building codes, and various building types
• Develop detailed cost estimates as designs develop, communicating with various stakeholders on cost drivers and value engineering opportunities across all trades
• Experience in value engineering and cost modeling with fast turnaround results
• Collaborating with subcontractor bids and receiving pricing
• Pricing of materials with multiple vendors, including subcontractors
• Pre-planning projects of projects – Building schedule

In this position, the carpenter will be responsible for all aspects of pricing, building, installing, and repairing structures and other items using different types of materials including wood and other building materials for our commercial and residential renovation division. Our ideal candidate must be familiar with various types of commercial and residential new construction, rough framing, siding, window and door installation and remodeling jobs.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with our estimating team on job quotes
• Measure, mark, and arrange materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from re:fab supervisors
• Cut and shape structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
• Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects
• Join materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, staple, or adhesive
• Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as levels, surveying equipment, or framing squares; corrects problems as needed
• Install windows, doors, cabinets, partitions, moldings, etc.
• Remodel homes and businesses
• Perform carpentry work in a neat, organized and timely manner
• Work with our operations team to obtain permits for construction work to be performed, if needed
• Work collaboratively with the re:fab estimating and operations team
• Keep detailed reports of work completed and report daily logs to re:fab team
• Complete jobs on time and budget
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, and adhere to company standards and safety program
• Adhere to local building and safety codes and guidelines

General Requirements:

• Applicant MUST have a reliable & insured truck or van to travel to and from job sites.

• Ability to travel to jobs located throughout the New England area
• This is a FULL TIME employee position

Compensation:

• Hourly compensation depending on experience
• Weekly general wear and tear vehicle stipend
• Gas reimbursement

The Right Fit Should/Have:

• Have general knowledge of ladder and power equipment use (i.e. sanders, sprayers, large ladders, lifts, etc.).
• Have a thorough understanding of preparation procedures (i.e. sanding, caulking, sealing, etc.).
• Show an ability to learn all painting functions; i.e. paint windows, doors, soffits, fascia, shutters, etc.
• Arrive to the job or pick-up spot prior to designated time daily, unless otherwise specified by crew leader or supervisor.
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs
• Ability to perform light carpentry
• Apply wall coverings as directed by supervisor.
• Submit reports on all worked performed.
• Make recommendations to his/her supervisor as necessary on the condition of wall coatings and coverings in the facility.
• Must be able to read/understand English
• Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; adhere to company standards and safety program.
